" Dwayne E. Reed of Ruther Glen, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the age of 60. He was born on June 18, 1963 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late William Henry Reed and the late Joyce Hayward Reed. In addition to his parents, Dwayne was preceded in death by his aunt, Marjorie Crone, nephew, Russell Reed and niece, Margaret Deal.

Dwayne began his career at William Byrd Press in 1988 where his mother also worked, and together they braved the I-95 corridor commuting to work. Dwayne was a dedicated account manager who climbed the ranks to become a VP as the company transitioned to Cadmus Communications, Cenveo and then KnowledgeWorks Global Ltd. He worked out of offices over the years in Springfield and Richmond, Virginia and Baltimore and Columbia, Maryland. He loved the challenges of his career and the travel, but even more, the people he met and worked with along the way.

Dwayne leaves to mourn his fiancée, Lisa Mooney, son, Brennan Reed, brother, Roger (Wilma) Reed, uncle, Charles (Susan) Hayward, cousin, Scott (Pam) Crone, two nieces, Paula Bryant and Brittany (Isaiah) Ingram, nephew, Sean Crone and seven great nieces and nephews.

Dwayne found immense joy in all types of sports and music, attending sporting events, movies (especially with his son) and concerts. He reveled in the excitement of others and the camaraderie of fellow fans. His favorite places to spend time were in nature, especially the mountains and oceans along the east coast. He cherished time with family and friends, creating memories that will live forever in the hearts of those he leaves behind. His strength, smile, adventurous spirit and loving big heart have enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM, with visitation with family an hour before and a reception following, at Bliley's Funeral Home Central, 3801 Augusta Avenue, Richmond, VA 23230. "
