" Born in Brooklyn and raised in New Windsor, NY, Michael graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY in 1979 before moving to Northern Virginia where he began working as an engineer in the defense Industry, first for Presearch, Inc. and then for Tech Marine Business. It was at Presearch where he met his wife Terri whom he married in 1981 and welcomed their son Mike in 1985. In 2022, he and Terri moved to Lake of the Woods in Locust Grove where he was a member of the Lake of the Woods Golf Club and served on the board.
Michael is survived by his wife Terri Joyce (Burk) of Locust Grove, VA, his son Mike Joyce and wife Mandi of Plymouth, NH, his mother Mary Ann Joyce of Hawthorne, NJ, his sister Patty Sommers and husband Brian of Newbury, MA, his brother-in-law Mark Grammer of Glen Rock, NJ, his three grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Michael Joyce and his sister Debbie Grammer.
