Life story
" Jacqueline Lois Waldon Rupp, 79, of Manassas, VA passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg, VA. She was born on June 15, 1940 to the late Gilbert and Elizabeth Godsey Waldon in Bloomington, IN. After graduating Bloomington High School in 1958, Jackie was a missionary with the Salvation Army in Japan. She moved back to the United States, enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a reservist for two years. In 1966, she completed the Resident Training and was made a Commissioned Officer in the Salvation Army, serving primarily in the Midwest. In 1979 and 1981, she received two Associate Degrees, one in Nursing and the other in General Studies. She received her R.N. certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1979. During her career, Jackie was a Charge Nurse in four departments, three at Fauquier Hospital and one at Prince William Hospital, Manassas, VA. While at Prince William, Jacqueline was a Radiology Nurse a new field at the time. While a full-time nurse, she also earned a B.A. in Applied Behavioral Science (1986, National College of Education). She retired from Nursing in 2004. Following her retirement, she remained active in the community, particularly in the Manassas Chorale and local charities. Jacqueline is survived by her loving children; Sarah Evangeline Kahl, née Rupp (Bruce Kahl, Husband), Jacob Aaron Rupp, Esq., (Kimberly Rupp, née Gore, Wife) and Adam-Michael Andrew Rupp, four Grandchildren; Rachel Christine Martinez, née Kahl (Victor Martinez, Husband), Rebecca Lynn Kahl , Gavin James Rupp and Katherine Elizabeth Rupp and two Great-Grandchildren: Zachary Tyler Martinez and Gabriel Lucas Martinez; sister, Judy Chatten; and brothers, Jerry and Michael Waldon. In addition to her parents, Jacqueline is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, The Rev. David Carroll Rupp. Services are private.
