" Rose Etta Hayes of Bealeton, Vs passed from this life on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the age of 90. Prior to moving to Virginia 5 years ago, she was a life-long resident of New Jersey.
Born September 4, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey. She attended Pilgrim Baptist Church and was the organist for the choir. She earned her associates in Science as a Registered Nurse from Essex County College and later lived in the town of East Orange and Montclair.
As a Montclair resident she became an active ad devote member of Saint Mark's Methodist Church. She also sang and traveled with the Bloomfield College Choir and the Saint Mark's Methodist Church Choir.
She very much loved music, puzzles, crosswords, craft work of knitting, crochet, quilting and needle point.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Donna L. Henley; five grandchildren, Damien and his wife, Laura, Anthony, Stephan, Brian, and Briana Henley; six great grandchildren, Tallyssa, Aric, Cierra, Elijah, Rebekah, and Ayesha Henley, all of Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends in New Jersey. She will be sorely missed.
