"David Leslie Hogg was born May 9, 1940 to George Edward Hogg and Isabelle Annie Hogg in Kirkby Malzeard, Yorkshire, England. He grew up working on the farm, until following in his elder brothers Barney, Harry, and Ken's footsteps by serving in the Royal Navy. After serving at various ranks like Petty Officer Cook for 24 years, he became a legal immigrant of the United States and began his career as dietary manager in nursing homes in Florida and Virginia. He is survived by his son Colin J. D. Hogg and by many beloved nieces, nephews, and second cousins. He held many of his friends and shipmates close to the heart and considered them to be family. "
