" After a prolonged illness in 2019 and 2020, James went from life to real life into the arms of his Savior.
He was a loving husband to his wife of 34 years, Debbie, and adoring father to adult children Carole, Sarah, Maggie and David of Virginia, Christy of Texas and Michael and wife Summer of Mississippi. And he was "dad" to much of Bealeton, both as a school bus driver for a few years and to his children's friends. He was always available to talk, and, if necessary, to be a papa bear and protect. He also loved the little ones and served as nursery director at Providence Bible Church in Culpeper, Virginia until his health made him step down in 2019.
He was ordinary in an extraordinary way, proving you don't need to be wealthy or famous to make a difference in lives. He loved church, Jesus, the $5 DVD bin at Walmart, superheroes and old westerns, especially John Wayne. He was full of joy, giving, and loved life and even during his worse days of his illness he never stopped smiling and flirting with the nurses. He will be missed sorely as his death leaves an empty void in all who loved him.
