Life story
" Patricia was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, to the late Robert and Teresa (Cerutti) Scott. The oldest of four daughters, she grew up in St. Clairsville, Ohio and graduated in 1960 from St. Clairsville High School. She then went on to attend Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1964. She married, moved to Maryland and gave birth to a daughter. In 1966, she began her teaching career. She was an amazing, dedicated teacher for over 30 years in Anne Arundel County Public Schools and Cecil County Public Schools in Maryland as well as at Caravel Academy in Bear, Delaware. After retiring from teaching she went on to work at Aberdeen Proving Grounds as a Distance Learning coordinator and later for Albright College in Pennsylvania as a college recruiter. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority for Professional Educators and completed a program for Education for Ministry through the University of the South School of Theology in 2009.
She loved to read, walk on the beach and work in her garden. She also enjoyed volunteering as a guide at the Turkey Point Lighthouse in North East, Maryland and served as a lay reader at St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church there. Her most cherished role however was being a grandmother and she adored her three grandchildren. She loved to have them visit her at her home and attend "Camp Grandma".
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman, in 2017. She is survived by her daughter, Shay Touart, of Locust Grove, Virginia; three grandchildren, Brittany Weddell, of West Caldwell, New Jersey, Andrew Weddell and Holly Weddell, both of Bourne, Massachusetts; a great-granddaughter, Mila-Rose; her sisters, Sandy (Edward) Calabria, Robin (Burt) Duvall and Barbara (Richard) Morando; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation at parkinsons.org. A special thank you goes to the wonderfully caring staff of Medi-Hospice and Cardinal Village. "
