Ashley and family, Our hearts and prayers are with you through this difficult time. I'm still in shock that you have left this earthly home and gone to your Heavenly home. YOU HAVE LEFT US WAY TOO SOON WITH SO MUCH MORE LIFE TO LIVE. You were a wonderful woman with a heart of gold. You were such a kind, loving, selfless, thoughtful, caring and giving person. You were a mentor to so many and a friend to so many more. You were always a positive person and saw the bright side in everything. You put everyone else's needs before your own and your faith in God was unwavering. Your friendship meant the world to us! We were blessed to have you in our lives as we thought of you as part of our family. For some reason our families drifted apart for a few years but God saw that we came back together. You helped my family through so much with your kind words, prayers or just listening to what we had to say. . There aren't enough words or ways to say how much we appreciated & really loved you. WE WILL MISS YOU TERRIBLY!! Not a day or many days would go by that we didn't hear from you in some form whether it was just to say hi or you checking in on my parents or myself. Your weekly visits with us will always be treasured hours of talking about any and everything. The laughter, the tears, the stories told and those meaningful goodbye hugs forever cherished. Now it's going to be so hard to want to call or text you but we cant. To have a conversation with you and hear your voice. To send a text and wait for a reply that won't be coming or to post something on your Facebook page we think you would like. You definitely left a lasting impression on me and my family and now there's a hole in our hearts. As our tears fall and our hearts break, may you be at peace, walk with God, reunite with the family and friends that had gone on before you but still watch over your family and friends you left behind until we see each other again. We love and miss you so much!

Cheryl was and will continue to be one of my favorite colleagues and friends. We taught English a long time together, and even had the same place we lived in Norfolk for a bit. Cheryl was a blessing not in my life, but in the lives of everyone that knew her. The kids loved her and were heart broken to find out that she passed away so unexpectedly. I cherish the time I had with her more, but wish that God didn’t have to call her home so soon. She and I laughed and cried with each other over the years- attending family member’s and friends funerals in support of each other. My heart breaks for Ashley and her brothers and Cheryl’s grandchildren left behind, but I know that heaven has a new angel to watch over them all - and at YHS. I cannot express accurately how heartbroken I am that I can’t just message her on social media and see about meeting up for coffee- which we said we’d do post-pandemic. My love and deepest sympathy to her family.
