"Christine (Chris) Patricia Huse (nee Ducker) was born on October 28, 1937 in Grenoside, Sheffield, England to Dorothy Ducker (nee Creighton) and John (Jack) Ducker. Chris died on October 23rd at the home of her daughter, Michelle Vanderbilt, in Warrenton, Virginia after a year long battle with multiple illnesses.

Chris came to the United States via ship in 1947 with her mother and three siblings. They would settle in southern Georgia with their step-father, David Johnson.

Chris graduated from Boston High School in Boston, Georgia, in 1955. After graduating Chris enlisted in the Navy. She loved being in the Navy and took great pride in and thoroughly enjoyed her work in nursing, mostly spent at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.

Chris left the Navy in 1959 to start a family with her husband, Dennis Huse, also enlisted in the Navy. Chris had three children. Michelle Vanderbilt of Warrenton, Virginia, Dennis Huse of Alexandria, Virginia, and John Huse of Winchester, Virginia.

Chris became the perfect stay- at-home mom. I'm 1977 Chris went to work for Visa which had located in McLean, Virginia. In no time, Chris was promoted to customer service manager of the graveyard shift. When Visa relocated to the west coast, she went to work at Hi-tech Engineering. After Hi-tech Chris went to work at First American Bank. Eventually she landed at Fairfax Radiology Consultants in 1998. She started as a scheduler and became the Heart & Health Scan Coordinator until her retirement in 2011.

Chris absolutely loved people. She always had a smile, a positive attitude, and an encouraging word for those she knew. She was generous, kind, hard working, and had a fun loving personality. Chris loved the sun and could often be found working in her yard.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and John Ducker, step-father David Johnson, sister Rita Hays, brother John Ducker, beloved son-in-law Bill Vanderbilt, and nephew Verle Lloyd Johnson.

Due to the Covid pandemic, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
