Life story

"James Edward McIntyre passed away peacefully in his home in Spotsylvania, Virginia, November 11, 2021, surrounded by his family. No service will be held per his request.

Jim was born January 30, 1943 in Manhattan, Kansas, to Virgil and Helen McIntyre. Jim married Bonnie Staatz in 1959 and they had two children, Robin and Terri, before joining the Army. After 10 years of service, Jim settled in Northern Virginia. He later married the love of his life, Marcie Featherall in 1987. Jim was known to be the life of the party. He loved to cook. He endeared himself to many family and friends by orchestrating neighborhood and family gatherings centered around the delicious feast he prepared.

Jim is survived by his wife Marcie, his three children Terri McDonnell, Robin (David) Megel, and Keith (Bonnie) Featherall; five grandchildren Amy Skillin, Jeremy Blevens, Keith Featherall-Parr, Ana Megel, and Joseph Megel; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his three sisters; Marie Estepp, Bonnie McIntyre, and Myrna Kay Padgett.
