" Ora Lee Payne, 94, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 in Culpeper. She was born May 11, 1928 in Blairsville, GA to Henry and Josephine Cochran.
She is predeceased by her husband, Fred L. Payne and 2 grandchildren, Hunter and Kendall Payne.
Ora Lee is survived by her 5 children, Darrell L. Payne (Brent) of Culpeper, F. Dewayne Payne of Culpeper, Daniel E. Payne of Fredericksburg, Debra P. Bloomfield of Tazewell and Cary M. Payne (Bonnie) of Culpeper; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
As one of the Jehovah Witnesses, Ora Lee was a beautiful, Christian woman who loved Jehovah God and tried her best to imitate Jesus’ Love and showed it in how she was so loving and kind to everyone. She was an avid gardener for most of her life. The Payne's were Culpeper dairy farmers where Mrs. Payne worked alongside her husband and sons for over 30 years.
Ora Lee was an excellent cook, very family focused, generous and kind as evidenced by the farm workers who were always welcomed around her kitchen table. She believed in showing respect to everyone.
She resided at Our Father's House for 5 years prior to her death.
A private service for the family will be held at a later date.
