" Josephine P. Lawson of Rixeyville, VA went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 21, 1932 to the late William Lawson and Josephine F. Banks Lawson.
Josephine is survived by her son, Francis Lawson, Sr.; a nephew raised like a son, Archie Williams; a special nephew, who was also like a son, Bobby Johns; grandson, Francis Lawson, Jr. (Mary), granddaughter, Ashley Strader (Derek); great grandchildren, Shayla, Lyric, Gabrielle, Derek, Jr., and Noah; special niece, Shelly Lawson; a special cousin, Jean; and a special friend, Paula Tolbert. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by six siblings, Icy L. King, Willie Ann Gaskins, Pearl Williams, Armistead H. Lawson, Ernest Lawson, and Mary L. Tolbert.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church, 705 View Town Road, Amissville, VA 20106 with Pastor Henry Hall officiating.
