"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Erik Patrick cook, 44, of of Beaverdam, VA on June 2, 2022.
Erik was born October 5, 1977 to William (Bill)Cook and Sandra Cox lemasters in South Hill, VA. Erik started a career and owned a successful landscaping and tree service. He felt strongly about giving back to his community and supporting small businesses. Erik encouraged an mentored many young men in starting their own business and following their dreams.
Erik married his love, Kathy Coor Cook. They celebrated 27 wonderful years together. They have 2 children, 1 son Haven (13)and 1 daughter Haley(10) who were the light of his life.
Erik enjoyed traveling with his family and was always looking for an adventure. They took many hiking trips to waterfalls and exploring the United States, Canada and England. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Erik also enjoyed volunteering for his community, from rescuing cats to stringing Christmas lights on the town's tree, sponsoring baseball teams, giving Thanksgiving dinners to those in need every year, and many other ways he gave back to the community. He was always supportive of the local American Legion donating and maintaining the landscaping.
He was considered a blessing to so many and remembered for how he gave so selflessly over the years.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Coor Cook , children Haven Cook and Haley Cook; Mother Sandra Lemasters, Siblings Tony Cook ( Tou), Raymie Cook ( Carey), Dawn Stoneman ( Bob), Mike Cook ( Shannon), Step Mom Dianne Norris Cook. Kathy's family who saw him as their own Parents Roger & Jane Coor; Siblings Darlene Stading (Myles) Tammie Satchell ( Richard) & Philip Coor( Rosanna) . There are also many nieces and nephews who were proud to call him Uncle, they are Ethan, Christian, Katie, Arianna, Colden, Mike, Jake, Megan, Kayo, Kloe, Karleigh, Ashley, Austin, Jace, Kristina, Ricky, Andrew, Katelyn and Mackenzie. Erik had Aunts and Uncles to whom he looked up to and admired.
