"Wendy Susan Koch, 68, passed away peacefully in her home in Fredericksburg, VA on January 16, 2023 after a four year battle with ovarian cancer.
Wendy was born on November 23, 1954 in Baltimore, MD; the first child of Michael and Barbra Peppler.
Wendy grew up in the Baltimore area and went on to pursue her Masters in Instructional Technology and Elementary Education at Towson University, retiring her pursuit of knowledge just short of a Doctorate. For nearly twenty years, she dedicated herself to early education as a wonderful teacher.
She married Michael Koch on January 7, 1984, and together they had a daughter, Rachael Elizabeth Koch in July of 1991. Wendy worked with several animal rescues and cared for a number of abandoned cats throughout her life, often bringing cats she was unable to adopt out into her own home.
Wendy was preceded in death by her husband Michael Koch, her parents Michael and Barbara Peppler, and her uncle Bruce Shepherd.
Wendy is survived by her younger brother Richard Peppler, and her daughter Rachael Koch.
Wendy's ashes will be laid to rest with her husband at Lake View Memorial Park.
A celebration of Wendy's life will take place at Grace Fellowship Church in Timonium, MD on February 4th at 11am. The family requests that in leu of flowers, donations be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition or local ovarian cancer support groups."
