" On the morning of February 8th the love of my life left this world after a year long painful battle with cancer. Her passing has left an emptiness within me that may never be filled. Ginny was the only person in this world who truly “got” me. Ginny moved to Virginia from New Jersey and settled in Arlington with her mother, whom I had the good fortune to meet through my job. After determining that we were astrologically compatible, her mother, Jule, set the two of us up. She surprised me at the shop one evening after a hard day selling ice cream when I was covered with cream and had glasses held together with tape. No vision was I. But she was. Radiant with long hair and a yellow sun dress that I remember to this day. On our first date several days later, she dared me to climb up a pole and then down two stories to skinny dip in her pool. Seemed reasonable, so I did. She did not join me, but told me later that was when she decided that she was going to marry me. I had already decided that when I first met her. Ginny and I were not blessed with children, but she gave that love to her nieces and nephews, whom she adored. Family, friends, and her customers mostly appreciated her sass and wit. I did. She loved our dogs, cats, and even a rabbit and chinchilla. Many will miss her, none more than I, but we’ll always hold dear the mischievous twinkle in her eyes and her boundless caring for those she loved. "
