"Donna was born in Winchester, VA to William "Billy" Cornwell and Mildred "Millie" Cornwell (Wine), of whom she is preceded in death. She moved to Pimmit Hills, VA at a young age and lived there for most of her life. She met her husband, John "J.P." Sitnik at a little league baseball game, where he was umpiring and she was scorekeeping. They went on their first date and knew they were meant to be. They were married on their one-year anniversary on July 22, 1978. They raised their three children, Renee Lynn Navarro (Juan), Holly Kathleen Murphy (Ralph) and William Michael "Mike" Sitnik in Pimmit Hills. She and John had only recently finalized their move to Culpeper, VA.

Donna retired from Koons Tysons Toyota in December 2022 where she worked in the accounting department in Accounts Payable.

As well as her husband and three children, she is survived by her 5 grandchildren: John Navarro, Blake Clayton, Madeline Navarro, Trinity Murphy, and Ralph "Remy" Murphy, her brother Larry Cornwell and his children and grandchildren, sister Cindy Boyd and her children and grandchildren, and her much beloved dachshund, Dixie.
