Life story

" Douglas (Doug) Edward Davis Jr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday the 15th of August 2023 at his home in Spotsylvania,VA. He is preceded in death by his parents Douglas Davis Sr., and Mary Davis (nee Lingenfelter), and his son Brian Davis. Doug is survived by his loving wife Lois Davis (nee Scherer) of Spotsylvania, VA and sons Joseph (Erin) Davis, of Coltons Point, MD, Donald Davis of Spotsylvania, VA, and Christopher Davis of Forrest City, NC. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many “Camp Kids.”
Doug was born in Washington DC in April 1949. Spent much of his youth in Creekside, PA with maternal family and his paternal family from Arlington, VA. Married the love of his life in April 1984. They raised four boys together. He was an HVAC technician for the federal government and retired in 2011. Was an active member of GWRRA (Gold Wing Road Riders Association) and GWTA (Gold Wing Touring Association) for over 20 years. Has been an active member of IACT (Indian Acres Club of Thornburg) for over 20 years where his family still spends much of their time. Loved all his camp kids like his own and would do anything anyone ever asked of him. Doug was a hard working, skilled multi purpose craftsman who always had a way to fix something and loved adding his wild turkey to his coffee at the end of the day. His last few years were spent spoiling his second love, his youngest grandbaby Lizzie. Doug will be fondly remembered by many family members and friends.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
