" Matt passed away on November 22, 2023 peacefully at home with family and his beloved dog, Blue, by his side. He is survived by his son, Hunter Nunnally (Sabrina Hart), his lifelong caregiver, advocate, and who he often said was the love of his life, Heather Kellam, his step-son, Jeremy Smith, parents Bill and Geneva Nunnally, his brother, Brad Nunnally (Becky), sister Andrea Nunnally, and multiple nieces.
Matt was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and really enjoyed teaching others about the sports. He strived to be the best at anything he tried to do. He never met a stranger and would gladly help others when he could. He was a knife collector and shared this passion with his son.
He was an extremely proud father. Even through illness, he taught Hunter and Jeremy as much as he could. Matt always expressed his gratitude for the loving care he received from Hunter, Heather, Jeremy, family, friends, and all of the medical professionals who had a hand in his care.
He will forever be missed by many.
A celebration of life will be planned after the holidays and details will be announced once arrangements have been made. "
