Life story
" George Sheptock, 86, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away on April 6 from complications of multiple illnesses. He was born May 5, 1937 in Kirkwood, NY to the late Joseph and Mary Sekostoski Sheptock and was preceded in death by his six brothers Myron, Metro, Peter, John, Paul, Joseph, his sister Mary Cooper, and a niece Dorothy Ulbricht. He is survived by his son J. Mark (Tatiana), grandson Joseph and granddaughters Maegan and Leina, and by his wife Peggy Breinin and her children, daughter Lori Downs (David), two grandsons David (Isabella) three great-grandchildren, Mia, Annabelle and Joshua, and grandson James, son Jeff, grandson, Jeff, Jr (Coleen), great-granddaughter Caroline, son Jay and granddaughter Brandy, a great nephew CDR Stephen Ulbricht USN (Ret), (Deborah Montana), two sons, Paul (Adrienne), Mark and a daughter Deirdre Kovalcik (Andrew) and their children Ross and Gwyneth.
After graduating from Binghamton North High School, George went to earn an Associate degree in Applied Science with a major in Electrical Technology from the Broome County Technical Institute under the supervision of State University of New York. After college, he began a lengthy career at Singer Link Simulation Systems Division (1956-1992) where he held positions as a Field Engineer and Systems Engineer. His job had him traveling and living all over the US, Australia and the Netherlands.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life in honor of George. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of George Sheptock may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or the American Heart Association.
